Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

That's something my Mom always says when we get home. And we are now officially back in Texas. I'm still recovering, hence the lack of posts. I'll try to put up some pictures tonight of the return journey. All in all, it was a nice and quick trip--a night in Raleigh with MaryBeth, a morning in G'boro visiting Laurie for biscuits as big as your face, on to Atlanta with Nancy and Barb and Susie, and then a super-long day from Atlanta to Houston. Want to know the crazy part? Sawyer didn't cry once. Not even the last day of driving, where we got up at 5am, which is 4am Texas-time, and drove until 9pm Texas-time to get home. What a trooper!

We made some fun stops at the beach in Mississippi and at the live alligator park in Jennings, Louisiana. We learned never to stop in Pascagoula. Unless you want to see "scenic" oil refineries and industrial parks. We also stopped at a candy place called Priesters in Alabama and watched them make pecan brittle and divinity--yum! All in all, not a bad trip. Except for the whole Sawyer-not-sleeping thing. We're working on that now that we're back to normal, but I think it's going to be an adjustment. Thanks to Rob for helping the last two nights! I feel almost like a person again. Almost...

  1. I'm glad to hear you found candy in Alabama. Something as sweet as me! I hope you can hear the sarcasm.....
