Well, we've been back a few days now and, as always, returning from a trip makes me feel like I need a vacation just to make up for it. Thankfully, things are mostly back to normal. Rob agreed to do nighttime duties the first two nights we were back as Sawyer adjusted to being back home. By the third night, he was back to sleeping all night, and we'd moved him from a 5am wakeup time to 6am. Still earlier than I'd like, but NOT 5am.
All of his toys are now new, and he's been having fun playing with them again, as well as a few new things from Gammy. I had done very little thrift-store shopping since he was born, and we were blown away by the extensive selection at Katy Christian Ministries. Gammy got him a great, big barn to go with his tractor and animals, and it was only $5! Next week we'll have some playdates and head to the zoo, hopefully, but this week it's been all about getting back on schedule.
Now if only he hadn't picked up a runny nose and cough, then I think we'd still be sleeping. But alas, he was up most of the night with a cough, which means Mom and I were up most of the night with his cough. I guess I can at least take comfort in the fact that when he's feeling better, he'll probably go back to sleeping well. I definitely feel like a person and not a zombie, and that's always good.
