Star of Bethlehem

I can't believe I've forgotten to invite those of you in Houston to come to the Star of Bethlehem presentation this Friday night, December 11. That's tomorrow! I have probably mentioned this on here before, but it's one of my favorite parts of Christmas. Rob and I first started going to this maybe back when we were just dating. Basically, a lawyer and professor at A&M (whoop!) got really distracted by the details of the star in the Christmas story in the Bible. It does weird things like move around and stay over the place where Jesus was. So he investigated. He spent hours with a program on his computer that simulates the constellations. The crazy thing is that because everything up there is mathematically calculable (which being a wee brain in math I don't quite get), you can now see what the stars were doing in Bethlehem in Jesus' time.

Through the presentation, he gives his theory (which I am convinced is fact) of what the star really was and how it actually did do all those weird things. But that's just the beginning. Every year I walk out with a sense of awe at how God created this whole world and before events happened, he put signs in the sky for us to correspond with those events. It's truly mind-blowing.

In any case, if you want to go, shoot me an email. It's at our church at 7pm and I can try to hook you up with free tickets if you are able to go!
