Sunday night, I had a great derby practice with no injuries, then slammed my knee into the car door getting out at home and gave myself a huge bruise. Clearly, I need full gear at ALL times.
Today, my Dad came over and brought 15 bags of mulch (!!!!) and I arrived with flowers from the Houston Plant and Garden Center (great sales!) and we spent the day planting and mulching. This line comes to mind: "Your fingers hurt? Well, now you're back's going to hurt because you just pulled landscaping duty." Gardening hurts!
I'm a little afraid tomorrow night I might be a total mess at derby. For some reason, I have shin splinty pain in my left leg, which could only have come from the yoga I did Monday night at derby. (I sat out scrimmage because of my knee.) Seriously, who gets shin splints in yoga? I didn't notice it after running four miles Saturday (I RAN FOUR MILES! as I may have already mentioned) so I don't think it came from that.
I am a mess in every sense of the word. A mess! But maybe I'm not a mess in the attitude sense. I am really tired (Linc woke me up at 4:30 this morning) and falling apart and feel like I have nothing left, but am oddly positive. Just sort of understandably harried.
Photos to come--either tomorrow or Thursday when we get CARPET!
